In a startling filing, Derek Chauvin ‘s lawyer has submitted the appropriate legal documentation this weekend to claim his right to have his case dismissed. According to the documentation, Derek ‘s lawyer maintains that there are no grounds for any form of murder or manslaughter charges against Chauvin.
It remains unclear what triggered the filing considering state prosecutors; the Attorney General, and the case in general remain pretty strong against Chauvin. Per prosecutor documents, they’re actually seeking to enhance the case against him even further.
“Mr. Floyd was treated with particular cruelty,” prosecutors wrote. “Despite Mr. Floyd’s pleas that he could not breathe and was going to die, as well as the pleas of eyewitnesses to get off Mr. Floyd and help him, Defendant and his codefendants continued to restrain Mr. Floyd.”
