What to Watch Tonight: Netflix ‘s Dead To Me

You ever watch a series and end up being pleasantly surprised at the humour and writing? This would definitely be the one. Dead To Me is about a woman, Jen, who suddenly loses her husband in a freak hit-and-run accident and can’t figure out who did it. This series played feverishly well into its dark; neurotic, and often comical theme.

Meeting Judy (voiced by the same woman who is more aptly known as the voice of Velma) during a support group while trying to cope with the loss of her husband. Equally neurotic; often cynical, and troubled in her own right… a dominating and often troubling friendship brews between the two women.

Jen ‘s husband was never faithful to begin with not having learned such until she had a double mastectomy. Like most of you, I’ve been binging Netflix at unbelievable rates while in quarantine and this its one of my favourites so far.

The writing in this show is pretty good because it explores a friendship that by all means is tested after Jen learns that Judy is the person that actually hit her husband and killed him. It was also pleasantly a surprise to see Christina Applegate back in action.

I have to go props to the acting and show running here because in some of these Netflix shows things get so cliche and predictable. Dead To Me manages to keep you on your heels; guessing, and wondering.

Pleasantly this is one of those feel-good dramatic shows that are well written but keep you wondering for more.
