Dems promise big bold action as it is declared America is in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression

As the economic downturn in America continues (in the midst of a bleak jobs report) politicians on both sides of the aisle are duking it out on how to further help struggling Americans. On one side, Republicans want to reportedly hit pause and “evaluate” the help already provided (or the lack thereof). On the other, er, Democrats are gunning for a Rooseveltian type stimulus bill that would essentially pump unseemly amounts of assistance and monies into the U.S economy.

But to do so means that the Senate, some of which who doesn’t appear to be open to further help, would have to be on board. This week — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer announced a new set of legislation packages that they hope to “introduce soon.” Multiple reports suggest that those pieces of legislation are in fact or would in fact be some of the biggest stimulus packages America has seen in more than a century.

“We need Franklin Rooseveltian-type action, and we hope to take that in the House and Senate in a very big and bold way,” the New York lawmaker said Thursday during an MSNBC interview, per the Hill.
