There have been 4k domestic abuse-related arrests across the U.K in the past six weeks

A stunning confirmation from the Metropolitan Police force.

On Friday, British police confirmed that since at least 9 March 4,033 arrests have occurred across London related to domestic violence cases. Police say that the spike in cases mostly came after people were asked to self-isolate, er, some with their rather violent partners.

The force confirmed that charges are up 24% compared to last year and especially now considering there aren’t many options for victims to leave their homes.

There have been 17,275 recorded cases between 9 March and 19 April – a 9% increase on the same period in 2019.
