One-third of all Coronavirus deaths have been in the Black community in America

A shocking statistic in regards to the Coronavirus has almost universally raised eyebrows and further calls for healthcare for all in America. According to stats released by the CDC on Friday, at least one third of the recorded COVID-19 related deaths in America are solely within the black community.

The stats show that 30% of the recorded deaths are among blacks, however, at least 75% of the recorded deaths did not actually include any demographical breakdowns. So far, among the states that have reported stats from COVID-19 related deaths — at least a quarter of the death records don’t actually report racial statistics.

The statistics have ignited calls from politicians to further address the startling conditions that have led to further inaccessible healthcare within the black community. On Friday, Rev Al Sharpton led some of those calls in Harlem as he passed out food; masks, and other essentials to Harlem residents.
