He was one of Bollywood ‘s biggest and brightest stars with a series of massively successful Anglo-American films under his belt. But for Irrfan Khan, his stunning Bollywood career was cut short this week as reports in India confirmed that he has died at the age of 53.
On Wednesday, a statement twas released following news of his death from a rare neuroendocrine tumour. He was admitted to a Mumbai hospital late Tuesday night.
“It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away,” read the statement. “Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him.”
