D.C Reverend tests positive for the Coronavirus, Amtrak suspends NY-DC non-stop service

That patient has been identified as Rev. Timothy Cole of the popular Christ Church programme in Georgetown. Cole, 50, is believed to be the first known patient in D.C to contract the virus.

Following a statement by city officials including the Mayor, the church confirmed Cole ‘s identity releasing their own statement. There is a second patient who is being watched and quarantined in Maryland. He is a visitor from Nigeria who is believed to be positive for the virus.

Out of an abundance of caution, has cancelled all activities including church services until further notice. We recommend that concerned community members contact their health care providers,’ the statement said.

Partially as a result of low demand and the virus infecting the city — Amtrak has suspended its non-stop service to and from New York until 31 May.
