With El Chapo behind bars — much of the focus on Mexico ‘s cartel world has turned its focus on the other members of the community who are otherwise illegally dominating much of the modern world. In this profile piece, the startling story of Blanca Cazares gets pushed back into the headlines just days after her nephew married El Chapo ‘s daughter.
She’s been blacklisted by the U.S since at least the Fall of 2007 according to records obtained for this profile.
Cazares is widely considered to be one of the most powerful women in Mexico due to her extensive narcotic; trafficking, and money laundering connections. In fact, as of this writing, she and 18 other associates remain blacklisted by government financial offices in the United States. That blacklist means that Blanca Cazares ‘s assets are frozen throughout the United States and its territories.
A former associate of Cazares who preferred to remain anonymous since they no longer have any association with Cazares described her as “the most cunning woman one could ever meet.” In translated phone calls with me yesterday, Cazares ‘s former associate says that she widely lives in fear and that is why she is constantly surrounded by armoured cars and security squads.
She is now known amongst the Sinaloa Cartel and the Mexican state of Sinaloa as the “Empress of Drugs.” That widely became a known moniker after the high-profile arrest of El Chapo, someone she had long considered. her boss and the most famous Sinaloa cartel leader…. ever. Cazares had previously and notoriously started in the narco world as a low-level money launderer until she built her way up.
Cazares famously showed up to the Sinaloa state cathedral a few days ago actually in armoured/bulletproof cars and SUVs for the wedding of her nephew to the daughter of El Chapo — the world’s richest drug kingpin. Cazares, according to at least two others who are currently still close to the Queenpin — hopes that the nuptials between the two will further bring her to the consolidation of remaining power with the Sinaloa Cartel… now that she’s got Chapo ‘s daughter fully on her side.
This profile grew increasingly difficult as. it came to completion because we were warned on 3 separate occasions to cease publishing otherwise this would eventually travel throughout Mexico. Past attempts to profile Cazares apparently largely gone unsuccessful due to reported intimidation and threats by Cazares ‘s drug cartel to those. who. “get to close.”
