Tragic news for fans of Netflix ‘s soapy royal drama The Crown. According to reports and show-runners, the show will formally end after season 5. There isn’t quite a formal explanation as to why, however, show-runners explained that they simply just thought it was a smart idea to end it where it is at.
It remains unclear what time period the fifth season will actually cover as the show was originally meant to last six seasons to mark 60 years.
What’s next…
Imelda Staunton (think: Harry Potter) will take over from Olivia Coleman for the final curtain call as Queen Elizabeth II. It still remains uncertain as to whether or not the Queen herself actually watches the show.
