China is officially the most terrifying place to be right now

China is probably the least desired place to be right now and that is putting the situation lightly. According to reports from Chinese state media, residents have now been told to avoid others; get rid of their pets (or they will be culled), and have reportedly resorted to using personal items as masks as the nation faces a huge shortage in protective face masks.

Here’s what we know so far:

Notices provided to The Daily News confirmed that several residential neighbourhoods in China have ordered pets out amid misinformed fears that pets can also transfer the coronavirus to humans. This has been unconfirmed and is an unreliable piece of information according to WHO. The World Health Organisation says that this particular feat has not been proven.

The death toll in China is now at 259 with more than 11k cases.

The World Health Organization has told other countries to prepare for full-scale outbreak control. What that actually means remains unclear as each country likely has different ideologies and policies as to what that means.

Australia is now the 2nd country to bar non-citizen Chinese nationals from entering the country, America. was the first.
