BOSTON — Troubling news in Boston today as it has been confirmed that a U-Mass student has been confirmed to have tested positives for the coronavirus. According to what we’ve learned, officials confirmed that the man in his 20’s recently traveled to Wuhan China — the epicenter of the lethal virus.
Authorities in Boston note that the student is under mandatory quarantine. The news comes as federal authorities countrywide are preparing upwards of 1k quarantine beds for travelers from abroad. On Saturday afternoon, reports revealed that the total number of cases has now jumped to 12,000+ and more than 259 have died.
‘Our priority is not only to protect and inform the residents of Boston but also to help this man continue to recover. We are pleased that he is doing well,’ Boston Public Health Commission Executive Director Rita Nieves said in a statement.
