Urgent Update: Chinese authorities issue new information about the Coronavirus

WUHAN, HUBEI PROVINCE CHINA — Chinese authorities in the city of Wuhan have issued international travel warnings amid a concerning surge in cases of the coronavirus.

As we’ve been reporting since the story broke here is what we know so far:

Chinese authorities are pushing back against travellers entering the city of Wuhan

According to reports, Wuhan authorities don’t want people to travel to the city amid yet another spike in cases of the virus. It is believed that the number of deaths may have risen if not doubled, although Chinese police wouldn’t confirm that.

Editors note: During the publication of this report, we’ve now learned that the number of deaths is at least 17.

Scientists in multiple states along with the U.S National Institute of Health are scrambling to create vaccines for the mysterious virus. The Chinese aren’t being of much help.

Quarantine measures are being discussed…

Although they’re still in early stages, many cities around the world may actually follow suit in China. Wuhan has set up quarantine zones for those believed to be infected or may have symptoms of the virus.
