Mississippi ‘s Parchman prison rocked by latest in-prison murders

The story of Mississippi ‘s severely understaffed prison system just got a whole lot worse.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed by Mississippi’s Department of Corrections that at least 2 more men have died inside their troubled prison system.

The details of their deaths are pretty harrowing.

Parchman officials say that the two men were beaten to death inside of their understaffed prison (this cannot be stressed enough, Parchman among other is severely understaffed with at least 5-7 unmanned guard posts at any given time.)

Parchman ‘s troubles got even worse when the Sunflower County Coroner ‘s office confirmed the deaths.

But the confirmations brought a piece of information that Parchman didn’t quite reveal. According to SCC ‘s Heather Burton, the two men died of “severe blunt force trauma” indicating that they may have been struck with an object.

When the deaths occurred, Parchman immediately tried to play damage control but….

The two men actually died on Tuesday morning and not Monday according to a coroner’s report shown to The Daily news.

Who were they?

According to what we’ve learned, at least one man has been identified. Timothy Hudspeth, 35, was beaten to death at Parchman. The other has not been named as of this writing.
