THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS EVENT: Donald Trump has been impeached by the House of Representatives and charged with obstruction of justice and abuse of power. He is now the 3rd American leader in history ever to be charged.
A full Senate trial is now expected where it is anyones guess as to what will happen next. The Republican controlled Senate is believed to be prepared to acquit him, although that remains partially unclear as of this writing.
Representatives voted 230-197 on the first abuse of power charge and are currently voting for the 2nd charge. At least 1 Republican and 1 Independent switched sides and voted in favour of the charges.
