Gunman kills 7 in TX mass shooting, Texas passes laws loosening gun restrictions

Texas now has some of the weakest gun control laws in the country, and that literally comes just hours after 7 were killed and 21 more were injured in the latest mass American shooting. On Sunday, several House and Senate bills came to fruition making it even easier for people to obtain and carry guns almost anywhere.

Let’s break this down so people can understand.

As of Sept 1, the series of bills make it significantly easier for people to openly carry guns in almost every part of day-to-day life in Texas. Among the most troubling, actually is House Bill 535 which now has made it even legal to carry in places of worship.

“We have learned many times over that there is no such thing as a gun free zone. Those with evil intentions will violate the law and carry out their heinous acts no matter what,” state Sen. Donna Campbell, co-sponsor of the bill, said in a statement. “It makes no sense to disarm the good guys and leave law-abiding citizens defenseless where violent offenders break the law to do great harm.”

House Bill 302 now makes it legal to have a gun in your home; apartment, and the like. Landlords and the variant are now prohibited from banning people from having such in their homes.

House Bill 2363 now makes it legal to have fire arms in foster homes, something that was previously illegal.

House Bill 1143 now prevents people; school employees, and parents from being charged with a crime for having weapons in their cars (hopefully safely stored) on school campus.
