Couture Fashion Week is typically one of my favourite offprint times at NYFW. But this year — due to major delays (I’m eyeballing you Mr. Purnell) the show not only lacked high creativity it lacked the usual punctuality fashion heads are accustomed.
The designs themselves seemed pretty recycled, and often appeared to be loose fitting. One of the models (a beautiful Indian woman) bumped into me in the bathroom and told me that her designer failed to even tailor her dress.
I was not impressed with the pretty basic couture designs this year. Some of these dresses seemed very prom-dressy and were not well suited for what appeared to mostly be grown women.
