Oceanside, New York — In just another example of how gross New Yorkers can be — the death of a local teenager has turned into a social media circus. According to authorities in Oceanside, 16-year-old Khaseen Morris was killed yesterday outside of a strip mall in the area. Khaseen reportedly died on the pavement outside of the local mall while those around him Snapchatted it (of course they never called for help).
“Kids stood here and didn’t help Khaseen — they would rather video this event. They videoed his death instead of helping him,” Nassau County Police Department Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said in a press conference. “Your friends are dying while you’re standing there and videoing it. That’s egregious.”
Some local kids say that Khaseen had been involved in a heated exchange of words days prior to his death. Several kids told The Daily News that after walking a fellow female student home, her apparent jealous ex-boyfriend threatened to fight Khaseen because he assumed he was dating her.
