Being in your own home is certainly one of the greatest things to experience apart from getting your first cell phone. But scouring over e-mails, I, quickly discovered that some of you are a little behind the kitchen-times and don’t actually know how to put out a fire in the good ol kitchen.
Kitchen fires can be pretty common, eve ncookign or doing the most basic things around the stove top. But since I ventured out on my own and learned how to live life as an adult, here are four ways I’ve learned to safely put out a fire in the kitchen.
If you’re dealing with an oil-fire, it tis imperative to remember to never put wateer on an oil fire. absolutely do not do that.

Obviously a fire extinguisher
Extinguishers are obviously the first point of use that should be found during the time of a kitchen fire. Remember…
- Pull the pin
- Aim low, usually at th ebase of the fire not above it.
- Move the exinguisher in a left-to-right motion to ensure that the extinguisher is getting all of the fire to put it out.
- Other tips: Baking soda, Salt (for smaller fires).
