Let’s keep it real — if you’re a New Yorker you’ve probably seen a time or two a Flycleaners van drive by. In fact for some of us — people actually depended on the service because we just don’t have genuine time to sit in a laundrymat. The most concerning feat about this company is that they did not publicly announce that they laid off more than 116 people beginning in early July.
First reported by Crains New York, Flycleaners quietly confirmeed the news but claimed that it would not directly change operations in their service areas. The problem? I’m literally here to tell you that half of New York has now descended into chaos because their laundry is missing — because of Flycleaners.
According to the same site, FC quietly even further back filed notification with the Dept. of Labor that they were going to undergo massive layoffs. Per the site, this was actually reported on 3 June in the lead-up to the now dozens of missing laundry bags on behalf of customers.
