NASHVILLE — Cyntoia Brown has been released from prison for the first time in decades as of this morning. As we reported earlier this week, the state of Tennessee and the Governor granted her clemency after several high-profile celebritiees took to advocacy on her behalf.
While an inmate, Brown, completed both her GED program and manageed to complete studies with Lipscomb University.
Brown was initially convicted in the shooting-death of Johnny Allen. Allen, 51 per documents, had forced Brown into prositution when she ran away from her adopted family in 2004. She is now required to be on parole for the next 10 years.
