UK parliament is ready to implement gay marriage in Northern Ireland

If the UK parliament has its way gay marriage is coming to Northern Island. According to a recent ruling by parliament, the lone Irish territory that does not have gay marriage rights now has no choice in the matter. LGBTQ Nation reports that parliament has given them just a few months to get it together, otherwise, parliament will force their hand and doo it for them.

The reasoning for this is mostly because Northern Ireland has its own governing responsibilities and its legislative body. But like any government — certain issues bring said legislative body to a screeching halt over the failure to agree.

This is that issue. Since 2012, the UK parliament among other Ireland bodies have attempted almost half-a-dozen times now to implement gay marriage laws in the territory. The British government has given Northern Ireland until 21 October to get it together or else.
