The Wolf of Wall Street strikes again

But this time we’re talking about the man who made the movie possible. According to documents seenn by The Daily News, producer Riza Aziz has been arrested in Malaysia as part of a massive multi-continent money laundering investigation.

Documents show that Aziz and his wife and several associates have been accused of stealing mor than $4.5billion from a private fund.  That fund has been identified as the 1MDB fund, which he and his associates allegedly used to fund their outlandish lifestyles over the course of several years.

Aziz is perhaps best known as the founder of Red Granite Pictures, which was behind the Oscar nominated film The Wolf of Wall Street.    Prosecutors and Malaysia’s anti-corruption agency confirmed to The Daily News that he is due to answer for his outlandish fraud this week on Thursday.

The fund is formally known as the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad fund. It is used by the state of Malaysia to finance; fund, and procure projects to further Malaysian society.
