The Nintendo Switch Lite is kind of lame

A  superfan of the Switch I am, I, was perplexed to learn that a Nintendo Switch Lite version is coming to the console family.    As many of my social media followers know that I own the larger version, they, were quick to jump online and ask me what I thought of the newer system (which is supposed to come out later this year).

This is the original Switch.

First and foremost, I’d like to point out that I tend to like things much larger than normal (except for the iPhone) and the same goes for the Switch.  I like the larger  Switch because it is fairly easy to see on; the graphics are pretty good, and it is even though larger still very portable.

I’m a person that is consistently on the go so portability and convenience is super important.  That is one of the biggest feats of this system.

But let’s dig into the specs. According to multiple reports … these are the following specs (just from looking at the specs/system itself it does not seem much different than the larger version..)

Nintendo Lite Specs:

5.5 inch screen (which is pretty damn small)

The joy-con controllers are not detachable acccording to Nintendo

  • No IR or HD rumble functions
  • No ability to dock to TV or play in ‘tabletop’ mode (This is super wack, and one of the reasons why I probably wouldn’t even buy this as a Christmas gift for someone else)
  • Battery life is apparently improved by all of an hour

The console will play all of the original Nintendo Switch games from the store.
