New York poised to fully decriminalize sex work: Report

MANHATTAN — Huge news for sex-working advocates this week as reports indicate that legislation to end its criminilization is on its way. The Stop Violence Against Sex Workers Act, as it is called, will likely face a strong uphill battle over the next year.

According to Buzzfeed, progressive lawmakers introduced the package of bills which would literally and quite drastically change lives for sex-workers in New York. Prominent changes:

The legislation would abolish the criminalisation of sex work all togetherIt would also provide criminal record relief for those already charged — essentially wiping their criminal record.
