The WHITE HOUSE apparently is not willing to comply with a fully legal request from House Democrats on behalf of the top-secret security clearance documents on Jared Kushner. According to the White House, the request “violates the law” and “is intrusive to the privacy of current and former WH employees”.
The decision, per reports, likely will set up a constitutional showdown between House Democrats and the White House. The Democrats maintain that it is their “constitutional duty” to examine checks and balances within the executive branch (mostly considering the White House has been accused of illegally providing Kushner clearance despite several warnings).
