Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Peter Thomas is behind bars in Miami pending some pretty hefty check fraud charges. According to documents obtained by The Daily News, documents show that he was detained at Miami International Airport last week after authorities scanned his identification through checkpoints.
Thomas, the part time co-star on the show apparently had been writing bad checks while he was away in Louisiana — something that even Leakes apparently didn’t know about (she was in Canada!).
“I understand the seriousness of the allegations that have been filed against me, however the allegations are false,” he said. “I do have faith in the judicial process and have no doubt that I will be acquitted from any wrong doing [sic]. While I can offer no further information about this incident, I will say that my attorney is handling this matter expeditiously.”
We’re told that he apparently wrote bad checks totaling more than $100,000. He was in Miami last week for an opening of a nightclub. Producers of the Atlanta based reality show declined to comment for this story.
