The U.S is close to an end in its 20-year-war in Afghanistan

According to the New York Times, the 20-year-war in Afghanistan is about to come to a close. The Times reports that U.S commanders in Afghanistan have a reported framework worked out with the Taliban, a framework plan, that would end the U.S’s longstanding war in the region. Officials also note that the deal contains several key components, that, first must be met by the Taliban.

In the framework for the deal, the Taliban, has been tasked with the following:

*Protecting the region from terrorists

The U.S seems adamant about protecting the region from the potential insurgency of terrorists. While the deal is no where close to being finalized, the Taliban, has reportedly asked for more time to clear it with their leaders.
