Pope Francis caught in brouhaha over comments about gay people

And this time, uh, they were apparently in a four-hour long interview from over the summer inside the Vatican.  In the book, Francis,  discusses how he feels about “gay people” and how having them “inside churches and other things” is “becoming a fashionable thing in some societies”.

This isn’t a joke.   The actual book comes out next week, and, will largely be available in about 10 languages.

The following line is catching flack, and, human-rights groups are calling foul.

In the book,  La Fuerza De La Vocacion, he also discusses a particular comment made by one of his clergymen.  A comment that found that some believe that having “gays in the church” isn’t “so grave” because its “just an act of affection”.

That reasoning “is in error,” Francis said. “In consecrated life and priestly life, there is no place for this kind of affection.

In our societies, it even seems homosexuality is fashionable. And this mentality, in some way, also influences the life of the church,” Francis was quoted as telling his interviewer.

Meanwhile, we’re going to have to be the ones to point out — that — their are indeed gays in the “church” he references. In fact, allot of them are indeed his own priests.     And for further reference, allot his his own “gay priests” are some of the most notorious child-abusers in history.
