Mexican President opens Presidential palace to the public for the 1st time

In probably one of the only times in recent memory, the secretive home to Mexican presidents  is no longer secret.  Over the weekend, following the inauguration of  President Andres — his official residence is now a very public space.

Los Pinos, as the residence is known, has been home to Mexico ‘s rulers for centuries.   In fact, until Andres, it had never been open to the public.  So much so, that, it had often been under armed guard and inaccessible for miles to anyone even within a gleaming distance of the palatial residence.

But now, uh, it is indeed being turned into a cultural center.  At the request of the AP, and the Mexican government,  we’ve picked up a few photographs that show just how lavish Mexican presidents have lived.
