More trouble for Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith

Under the apparent rouse that it was to remember a woman who called herself “the last known living daughter of the confederacy”.  According to CNN,  Cindy Hyde-Smith apparently backed legislation in 2007, that, aimed to “honor and rebuild the confederacy and the country in the way that it was meant to be”.

The legislation was apparently introduced in honor of Effie Lucille Nicholson Pharr. Pharr ‘s father apparently served in Robert E. Lee ‘s Confederate Army in 1861 — something that Hyde-Smith apparently felt needed to be honored in modern day.

The legislation didn’t quite pass the appropriate people, however,  CNN claims that Hyde-Smith has long sought for such things to happen — although doesn’t quite have the influence to do so. Meanwhile, per donation records, it appears that Hyde-Smith has caught a few high-profile donors.

Federal records show that Hyde-Smith received a $5,000 donation from none other than the MLB.   The Daily News has reached out to the MLB for comment, and, will update this page when we do receive a response.
