ISTANBUL, TURKEY — Troubling  developments in that ongoing diplomatic row between Saudi Arabia; Turkey, and the United States. First and foremost, we, have to acknowledge that we ourselves have close ties to Saudi Arabia — however we do not and cannot condone violence against members of the press (for any reason).

This is where it gets interesting. Turkish officials reportedly acknowledged the existence of audio tapes from the Embassy of Saudi Arabia inside Turkey.  The tapes (listen here) are the first key pieces of evidence that appear to confirm that the Saudi ‘s order the hit on Khashoggi.

His arrival at the Embassy on 2 Oct, had, been for nothing more than simply to gain marriage documents so he could become legally married in the country.  The New York Times has a full account of Turkish officials confirming these details.

Viewer discretion is advised reading beyond this point.

Per the audio tapes, uh,  Saudi Arabian government officials reportedly snatched. Khashoggi upon entry to the Embassy the day in which he died.    Several senior members of the Saudi Arabian government (including one member of the Royal Family?) could be heard on tape declaring that he would die.  In case it couldn’t get any worse, uh,  a forensic doctor (who has been identified, see here) could also be seen on tape telling others to turn on music to “ease tensions in the room”.

The audio tapes also marked the first time that anything or anyone has been able to debunk the claim by SA that they had nothing to do with Khashoggi ‘s murder.
