Netflix is once again ramping up its collection of movie titles and television shows. According to reports, the streaming network has now added a new show that garnering an insane amount of attention online. BBC ‘s Bodyguard premiered recently, and, surprisingly it debuted to the highest numbers of any show in more than a decade.
Now, the popular show is on Netflix. According to Deadline, the show stars Game of Thrones Richard Madden who is assigned to protect the home secretary. In the show, he is part of an elite task force from London’s Metropolitan Police force.
“Bodyguard has gripped the [UK] with its twists and turns. It’s a perfect example of a show produced locally [that] has huge global appeal,” says the studio president. “Through our partnership with Netflix, we can’t wait for audiences around the world to enjoy the show as much as audiences here in the UK.” It premieres on Netflix Oct. 24.
