Looks like Melania Trump has an interesting first major trip planned as First Lady of the United States. According to a written statement given to the AP, the First Lady is “in the planning stage of her first major international trip to Africa”.
Yes, Africa. In case you may have forgotten, her husband Donald Trump, famously was quoted as having called Africa (among other related countries) shi* hole countries. One might imagine that this solo-trip might not end very well for Melania.
“This will be my first time traveling to Africa and I am excited to educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent, while also learning about its rich culture and history,” the first lady said in the statement. “We are a global society and I believe it is through open dialogue and the exchanging of ideas that we have a real opportunity to learn from one another.”
