If you have never heard of the Dark Web, there’s probably a good reason you haven’t. Unless you’re in the market for kiddy porn, or sexual pictures depicting minors, you’ve probably never found yourself venturing into the anonymous area of the internet.
According to a new study picked up by Wired, 80% of all dark web traffic ‘is geared towards child pornography’. While that number may seem a little strange, experts are a little weary of the numbers themselves having came from services like Tor. The study used private access server websites like Tor to garner their numbers.
It’s important to note that sites like Tor, only actually account for maybe 2% of the ‘Dark Web’ but received at least 5 times as much traffic than other websites who populate ‘The Dark Corner of the Web’.
