Julie Chen defends embattled husband caught in scandal

T.V host Julie Chen took to  social media; airwaves, and “The Talk” over the weekend to defend her embattled husband over claims he has sexually assaulted multiple people.

Les Moonves, uh,  perhaps best known as one of CBS ‘s leading executives became the latest high-profile figure  to  become targeted by the #MeToo movement that has blazed headlines since last year.  On Friday,  six women came forward to the New Yorker claiming that Moonves had “sexually groped; assaulted, and or flat out made them perform sexual acts that they didn’t want to take part in”.

A fact that Moonves himself, uh, has denied as has his wife Julie Chen.  Chen and Moonves first married in 2004, and, in her statement on Twitter — she staunchly defended her husband and  the father to her children.

Moonves acknowledged, however, that he had made ‘unwanted advances in the past” but denies anything further than that.

Throughout my time at CBS, we have promoted a culture of respect and opportunity for all employees, and have consistently found success elevating women to top executive positions across our company,’ he said in a statement.

‘I recognize that there were times decades ago when I may have made some women uncomfortable by making advances. Those were mistakes, and I regret them immensely.

‘But I always understood and respected—and abided by the principle—that ‘no’ means ‘no,’ and I have never misused my position to harm or hinder anyone’s career.

‘This is a time when we all are appropriately focused on how we help improve our society, and we at CBS are committed to being part of the solution.’
