Trump ‘s marijuana comments may trigger sudden legalization

Donald  Trump and Jeff Sessions have long been at odds with each other, but,  in terms of marijuana, they couldn’t have much different of thoughts.  According to the New York Times,   Donald Trump is preparing to  endorse a Colorado legislative bill that would effectively ease (if not end) the federal ban on marijuana.

But, this is where the situation gets a little sticky.  Everybody knows that in the United States, marijuana is classified using the same drug classification as LSD and heroin. But, it has never been proven that marijuana has the same dangerous and often deadly consequences that come with the ladder of the two.

On Friday, Trump, publicly indicated that he endorsed a bill from Colorado rep Cory Gardner. That bill, perhaps, aims to effectively halt the federal ban that makes it difficult for states to choose how to approach the legalization of marijuana.  Some 20 or so states have already legalized it in some way,  although,  the federal ban makes using such rather difficult in a multitude of places.

Interestingly, Trump decided to pardon Alice Marie Johnson earlier this week after more than 21 years in prison.  With that,  reports indicate, that Trump is moving towards  pardoning as many non-violent offenders as he can while in office.    Additional reports indicate that Trump has ordered his aides to “review similar cases in which people were treated unfairly by the justice system”.
