Thousands of Hondurans are losing their status in the U.S

Because at the orders of Donald Trump,    Hondurans, are now losing their  status in the U.S under their once special  immigration protections.    According to the Department of Homeland Security,  some 57,000 Hondurans are scheduled to lose their protections first set into place under the Obama Administration.

The program, which was known as TPS,   was first set into place in 1999. At the time,  Hurricane Mitch devastated the country  which resulted in  thousands fleeing to the United States hoping for a better life.    Opponents have argued that Trump is “intentionally   adding tens  if not hundreds of thousands of people to the already long list of folks without legal status in the United States.
