Trump to pardon the world’s first major black boxer

And no we’re not talking about Floyd Mayweather for the younger crowd.  According to Sylvester Stalone; the White House, and Donald Trump himself —  Jack Johnson could see his 1913 felony conviction indefinitely overturned.  The Washington Post reports that  Johnson, who was convicted under the Mann Act in 1913 [for taking his white girlfriend across state lines]  spent a year in jail  after the conviction by an all-white jury.

“Sylvester Stallone called me with the story of heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson. His trials and tribulations were great, his life complex and controversial,” Trump tweeted. “Others have looked at this over the years, most thought it would be done, but yes, I am considering a Full Pardon!”
