Eating health is something we take very seriously at The Daily News, in fact, (our Editor-in-Chief rarely ever actually eats meat). In this week’s top column, we teamed up with health experts from New York University to talk about everything healthy — and what exactly happens when one stops eating meat.
- You are protecting yourself from heart disease
The lack of red-meat and the like, will, in the end help you protect yourself from diseases like heart disease. Prevention magazine notes that in a previous and rather large study, it, was found that in vegetarians (and vegans) death by heart disease was at least 24% lower than others.
2. You may lose part or all of your taste
Zinc is an important function of the body and it provides several functioning aspects of how we live our everyday lives. It sort of acts like a lifter. But most importantly, it acts like an immune system booster. A lack of meat results in a weird set of taste buds. As a result of the loss of some zinc, it, is recommended the veggie-goers go for more: protein; juices, fruits, wheat, grain and similar foods.
3. With the lack of protein……
Your muscles will need a bit more time to recover. Prevention also notes that protein is pretty much an automatically needed source within the body. Protein helps muscle grow; replenish, and do things like physically recover after a workout.
