NEW YORK — Peter Martins, the longtime leader of the New York City Ballet has stepped down officially from hist post per the Associated Press. According to the AP, Martins, announced this week that he is “stepping down” amid an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct at the hands of his office.
The AP notes that Martins maintains that he never sexually harassed anybody, although, the New York City Ballet apparently didn’t believe him and hired a reported outside law firm to investigate the claims against him.
Martins, 71, cited concerns over his family and personal life as to why he decided to step down.
