Michael Flynn pleads guilty, will testify against President Trump: Breaking

WASHINGTON — Former Trump Campaign official Michael Flynn has reportedly been charged with obstruction of justice among other charges. According to  documents obtained by numerous outlets, including this one,  Flynn has pleaded guilty to lying to federal authorities about his work with Russia while part of the campaign.

Work that, per the FBI, included  contacting Russian officials in hopes of getting close to the Kremlin “on behalf of a very senior campaign official”.  The charges and indictment can be read, here.   Some of the opened documents revealed that the beginning of contact between the Trump campaign and  Russia apparently had something to do with a coming UN resolution on Israel.

Flynn, per CNN, has now released a statement acknowledging his crime and that he intends to cooperate fully with authorities.

My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions,” he said. Interestingly,  other documents reveal that the Trump campaign did indeed have numerous conversations with Sergey Kislyak.

Kislyak  was the ambassador for Russia at the time.   Indictments revealed that phone calls first began at Trump ‘s “Winter White House” in Florida, otherwise, known as Mar-a-Lago.     The phone calls ranged in discussion topics, mostly,   until they started to discuss the sanctions against Russia and top ranking Russian officials.

The calls began around 29 December, and continued for some time.  With Kislyak, they mostly  were about Trump ‘s transition team and Trump himself per the statement of offense.   The calls all came from Mar-a-Lago.

We’ll have more available today as news continues to surface to the media.
