Private land ownership in the United States apparently is big business, so much so, that one singular private citizen owns more than 2.2m acres of land. Land Report revealed its annual list of the 10 biggest land owners, and, John Malone tops that list (think: Liberty Media).
With stocks at a zig-zag over the past year or so, it, is actually no surprise that people are buying up land as if it is going out of style. Last year, Land Report, estimated that its previous 10 people had an estimated 27m acres of land in the United States alone.
