Over the weekend, US President Donald Trump found himself in the midst of some confusion after appearing to fully refute claims that Putin meddled in the American election last year. On Friday, it appeared that Trump suggested that US intelligence agencies were wrong when they said that Putin indeed meddled, however, his stance has now changed.
“I believe that he feels that he and Russia did not meddle in the election,” Trump said of Putin at news conference with Vietnam’s President Tran Dai Quang in Hanoi, the AP reports. “As to whether I believe it, I’m with our agencies.”
Meanwhile, Trump is currently in Asia meeting with the President of the Philippines.
