Activists demanding an abortion for Jane Doe protest outside of Planned Parenthood in Washington

An immigrant teen in Texas trying to force her hand in getting an abortion  is learning that her fate may be sealed. According to a judge in Los Angeles,   the ruling banning her indefinitely from getting an abortion at 15 weeks has been temporarily overturned.

The ruling now permits the teen, only identified as Jane Doe,    to get an abortion by a government approved sponsor as long as it happens before Halloween night.     The ACLU, who is representing Doe, says, that the government is “intentionally and maliciously trying to intrude on her constitutional right to have an abortion”.  Meanwhile, the government says that in no way are they obligated to facilitate the procedure (but, uh, the government actually does often facilitate abortions for those in federal detention facilities…).

The White House otherwise has not publicly commented on the situation, although, we have learned that the detention facility in Texas has until Halloween night to release her for a matter of hours in hopes she will get an abortion successfully.

If she doesn’t find an abortion sponsor, her case, will return to court per documents.
