So, Ed Sheeran was in the premiere episode of Game of Thrones

And people apparently were not very happy about it.  In Sunday’s season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones, Sheeran, suddenly appeared playing a warrior.  That distinction freaked people out, and uh, they were not too thrilled seeing Sheeran in a “place he doesn’t belong”.

Meanwhile, some interesting memes popped up on social media (view them here). In other news, Jeremy Podeswa, who directed the premiere, had this to say in defense of Sheeran.

“I really, genuinely believe that if you didn’t know who he was, you would have just thought he was one of the gang, effortlessly,” Podeswa says. “I’m actually a bit surprised that people have made that much fuss about it. Because he … I don’t know. To me, he does seem quite organic, in his own way, to the show.”
