LONDON — Charlie Gard has died, according to his family. The little baby boy who was at the center of a hospital scandal over his health died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday. Gard, had been previously at the center of a major medical debate about whether or not he could undergo experimental treatment to fix his health.
In the United Kingdom, the health authority declined the request by his family to have the baby moved to the United States to attempt to undergo the treatment. Health officials denied the request on the grounds that attempting such would just cause more trouble for the baby rather than good.
Meanwhile, the debate over healthcare in the U.K and even the U.S rages on as officials in the United States attempt to strip healthcare from millions in a bid to appease the rich and wealthy who rule the United States.
