Days after the murder of Ava Barrin, the 15th transgender murder in 2017 has been recorded. Lynchburg Virginia police confirmed to The Daily News that Ebony Morgan was murdered on Sunday. According to police, Morgan, was allegedly shot multiple times.
She died before she ever made it to the hospital. Police are reportedly treating the death as an apparent homicide per officials. A formal autopsy and investigation is underway.
“I’m sure all that is being looked at,” Lynchburg Police Sgt. Bryan Williams told the News & Advance Sunday night. “At this point I don’t know if there’s any indication one way or another.”
The Daily News has confirmed that this is actually being investigated as a hate crime.
