And that’s troubling news. According to reports; federal officials, and officials at one Vermont power plant Russia code belonging to what is believed to be an elite group of hackers has surfaced in a laptop found on site. Officials say that the laptop wasn’t hooked up to anything, but, it appears that there was an attempt to at least get the code near the power grid in Vermont. The Burlington Free Press reports that the code is apparently “very close to the same code used in the Presidential elections and the hacking in the DNC”.
“Vermonters and all Americans should be both alarmed and outraged that one of the world’s leading thugs, Vladimir Putin, has been attempting to hack our electric grid, which we rely upon to support our quality-of-life, economy, health, and safety,” Democratic Gov. Peter Shumlin said in a statement.
