The surgeon general of America has done a first, released a report on substance abuse in the troubled country.
Per NPR, Dr . Vivek Murphy reportedly labelled in his report that the number of opiod addictions is 50% higher than those who actually use tobacco.
Murphy, estimates that some 20.8m Americans are the “50% higher” mentioned in his report on top of the original numbers.
Even worse? Opiod addictions in America trump those with cancer by a long shot. Dr Murphy estimates that such addictions cost America $420billion each year.
“We must act now this isn’t something we can ignore any longer” Murphy said in a statement.
