Thailand’s reigning King Bhumibol Adulyadej dies at 88

BANGKOK, THAILAND – For more than 70 years, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand has ruled Thailand.  Fastly having become the worlds longest reigning monarch,  he has now passed away.

Bhumibol had been in ill health for years as he had been suffering from kidney failure among other things.  His death had been confirmed early this morning by the ruling Palace,  who subsequently confirmed that the crown prince would succeed to the throne.
